All of our educators and unique individuals who come from different backgrounds, have different home cultures, perspectives and experiences that can be shared with the children. As a team we acknowledge the importance of on-going professional development, social equality, co-operation, shared responsibility, mutual respect and high self-esteem for all and regularly they share their perspective dx in reflective practice; each member is supported and valued.

The quality curriculum at BRPS exhibits a holistic approach to teaching and learning, reflecting the national curriculum of Being, Becoming and Belonging and incorporating the Victorian Early Years learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF). We create a safe and enriching learning environment with high expectations that encourages children to be active, inquisitive and independent learners. We provide the intentional teaching tools to learn, think and critically analyse information to become life- long learners. Our vast and unique outdoor learning space provides endless moments for children to discover and inquire through interacting with the natural environment. Our kitchen garden invites children to learn to plant vegetables and herbs, flowers for picking, noticing growth, caring for the produce, harvesting and tasting healthy food.

At Black rock Pre-school our Beach Kinder Program provides rich learning opportunities for children to investigate and learn through nature. Children are relaxed, calm and connected to their world and community through their engagement with nature. We Believe that play is so important as play based exploration ensures that all children are able to “become“ in their own time; they can be anybody and they can do anything. All children have the right to play; as this is the way they make sense of the world around them.
