Lending Library Program

To support our early year’s literacy focus, we have established a library of books and resources for children to use at the service and take home.  The purpose of establishing our lending library is to help connect early literacy learning between the kindergarten and the home environment; promoting partnerships with families in the children’s learning journey.

 Each week, the children select a book that interests them to take home, enabling children to engage with a broad range of books that relate to their learning at kindergarten. The lending library concept encourages the children to take responsibility and be considerate.  The children learn to look after things that aren’t theirs, they become conscious of deadlines and learn about consequences.  This program runs from Term 2 to Term 4 each year.
